Carnival extends the suspension of the United States into 2021

Carnival extends the suspension of the United States into 2021

Carnival Corporation has announced that it will extend its current pause in service until the new year for its North American cruise line brands.

The decision implies the suspension between December 1st and December 31st of all Carnival cruise voyages.

Compliance, environmental security, and the health, safety and well-being of our visitors, the individuals in communities we affect, our crew and shore employees are always our highest responsibility and top priorities," said Arnold Donald, chief executive of Carnival Corporation."

"We continue to work on a detailed roadmap for the potential restart of cruising in North America with the United States Centres for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and global government and public health agencies, as well as top medical and scientific experts around the world.

"We have established and intend to update our improved health and safety protocols with their mutual recommendations, which are in the best interest of our guests, crew and general public health.

"We definitely look forward to welcoming our guests on board whenever we restart our cruise operations in the United States." Each brand has communicated individually and will continue to engage with guests to provide feedback and advice on impacted cruise vacations.

Each respective brand will communicate the date for the restart of cruise operations and be accessible on their websites.

Crew members, travel practitioners and other stakeholders are now being contacted by the organization and its products.

The news follows a CDC decision yesterday to allow the lapse of a no sail' order, starting the process of returning the industry to service.
