Mandarin Oriental for Emirates Palace Management

Mandarin Oriental for Emirates Palace Management

In Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Mandarin Oriental has signed a management contract to run, and eventually brand, the iconic Emirates Palace.

From January 1st, the group will take over management of the house.

This will be Mandarin Oriental's second hotel in the United Arab Emirates, following the opening earlier this year of Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai.

After two years of phased renovation, the hotel will be renamed as a Mandarin Oriental property, during which time the hotel will remain open.

The work would include substantial improvements to guestrooms and leisure facilities, as well as modern food and drink facilities.

Located on a 1.3-kilometer private beachfront, the Emirates Palace hotel features 394 guest rooms and suites, 12 restaurants and bars, 40 meeting rooms, an auditorium for concerts and a ballroom that can accommodate up to 2,500 guests.

A marina, two swimming pools, a spa and two fitness centres are among the leisure facilities.

This is a rare opportunity to run one of the Middle East's most high-profile properties and would be an outstanding addition to the region's portfolio.

"James Riley, Group Chief Executive of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, said, "We look forward to taking the Group's outstanding quality standards to Abu Dhabi and introducing the brand to a new audience.

Centrally situated in the heart of the city, Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi is conveniently positioned for both leisure and business travellers.

A quick drive away are the Grand Mosque and the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

The Marina Mall is close, and the town's shopping centre is conveniently accessible as well.

Abu Dhabi International Airport is 40 minutes from the hotel and Dubai Airport is 90 minutes away.

The collaboration with Mandarin Oriental represents a significant achievement and aims to bring the profile of the property into a new age," said Sultan Dhahi Sultan Al Humairi, Emirates Palace Company's managing director."

"We look forward to a fruitful and mutually successful partnership with the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group," he added.
